Treatment of TCM Prescription Name: Xiao Qing Long Soup
Source: Treatise On Febrile Caused by Cold (Shang Han Lun)
Ephedrs Herb without knots: 9 grams
Cinnamon twig without epidermis: 9 grams
Radix Paeoniae Alba: 9 grams
Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparata: 9 grams
Dried Ginger: 9 grams
Herba Asari: 9 grams
Rhizoma Pinelliae (Washed): 9 grams
Fructus Schisandrae Chinensis: 9 grams
Relieving exterior,excreting accumulated water, relieving a cough, and relieving asthma
Key Points of Syndrome:
        The treatment prescription of TCM is suitable for syndromes as Wind and cold located in exterior, accumulated water, aversion to cold and fever, no sweat, cough, wheezing, excessive and thin sputum, slippery tongue coating, not thirsty and drink, floating and tight pulse, body aches, and swelling of limbs and faces.
If thirsty, remove Rhizoma Pinelliae (Washed) and add 9 grams Radix Trichosanthis;
Slight diarrhea, remove Ephedrs Herb and add 5 grams flower of Longflower Stringbush (boiled to red);
For choking, remove Ephedrs Herb and add 1pcs Prepared Common Monkshood Daughter Root (Processed);
If urination is unfavorable, those who have a full belly, remove Ephedrs Herb and add 12 grams Poria;
For asthma, remove Ephedrs Herb and add 9 grams Bitter Apricot Seed (without epidermis and tip).
Deficiency and asthma: add Poria, Bitter Apricot Seed.
Fever and sore throat: add Radix Platycodonis, Gypsum Fibrosum, Herba Andrographis.
Pulmonary heat and thirst: add Radix Scutellariae, Gypsum Fibrosum.
Yin deficiency and cough at night: With Bai He Gu Jin Soup.

        This prescription reduces inflammation, discharges sputum, relieves tracheal smooth muscle spasm, promotes alveolar blood circulation, and enhances lung ventilation. Used for colds, flu, bronchitis, asthma, bronchiectasis, emphysema, whooping cough, intercostal neuralgia, acute and chronic nephritis, edema, conjunctivitis, eczema, blisters, ascites, hypertrophic rhinitis, allergic rhinitis, hypersaliva .
