Common causes and treatment of hair loss

So far, there has not been a stronger person who can withstand the torture: Do you dare to face your bald head? Even the Emperor Caesar was anxious about this, and every time he tried to comb the few hairs left on the back of his head to the front of his forehead in embarrassment, to maintain a little respect for the monarch.
Nowadays, I don't know when the hair transplant advertisements invaded, the hair loss group has received more and more attention.
As the topic of "baldness" only increased, many people began to realize the severity of the development of hair loss, but they did not understand the type of hair loss and missed a good solution, making themselves regret it!
There are three main causes of hair loss, one is congenital (hereditary hair loss), the other is pathological hair loss, and the third is acquired temporary hair loss.
1. Hereditary hair loss
Hereditary alopecia is also called androgenic alopecia, which is characterized by alopecia in the fixed area of the head, and it is also used to call it seborrheic alopecia when it is accompanied by excessive scalp oil. Androgen alopecia men generally begin to lose their hair from the hairline, top of the head, and spines, while women begin to lose their hair diffusely from the top of the head, and then gradually spread to the entire top of the head.
The pathogenesis of hereditary alopecia is affected by both genes and hormones. After the secretion of androgens in the body, 5α reductase is combined with the hair follicle cells on the top of the head to reduce it to dihydrotestosterone (DHT), and the hair follicles with hereditary alopecia genes It is the target organ of dihydrotestosterone. Through a series of signal transmission, dihydrotestosterone will cause hair follicle cells to be damaged, atrophied, and closed, which will eventually lead to hair loss.
Androgenetic alopecia is an aggravating disease. According to the area of hair loss from time to time, hereditary alopecia is recognized as being divided into seven grades.
2. Pathological hair loss
① Thyroid dysfunction
Thyroid hormone is the most important hormone that affects hair growth. Too much or too little of this hormone can cause hair to fall out and dry out. When the unbalanced secretion of thyroid hormones causes the hair follicles that grow hair to be affected by metabolic disorders, overall head hair loss is prone to occur. If symptoms such as weight loss, insomnia, and anxiety are accompanied, it is necessary to go to the hospital for examination.
② Dermatitis/folliculitis
Folliculitis and dermatitis are mostly purulent inflammation caused by bacterial infection of hair follicles, and the main pathogens are aureus Staphylococcus. The most common is seborrheic dermatitis. The main reason is that excessive sebum secretion accumulates around the hair follicles, and even oppresses or blocks the hair follicle pores, creating obstacles to the normal growth of hair. If the hair cannot be kept clean, the scalp seborrhea will result. Too much, it will easily cause hair loss.
③ Alopecia areata
Alopecia areata is a kind of sudden, localized, patchy hair loss that usually occurs on the scalp, eyebrows, armpit hair, and pubic hair. It is generally oval, and the scalp where the hair loss occurs is normal, without any inflammation or abnormal sensation. The cause of alopecia areata is still unclear. It is generally believed that it is related to autoimmunity, genetics, and acquired spiritual factors. The influence of serotonin is also the main reason for inducing and aggravating. Alopecia areata usually heals on its own, but there may be recurrences.
3. Acquired temporary hair loss
① Postpartum hair loss
A large amount of hair will fall off between two to six months after a pregnant woman gives birth. This is because the level of estrogen secretion in the body of a woman after childbirth is greatly reduced, causing the hair that is prolonged by estrogen to directly enter the resting period during pregnancy, then it falls off; on the other hand, it is affected by mental factors, such as the lack of rest time for the mother after giving birth, and excessive worry about the child's health, etc., which can also cause hair loss.
As long as it is properly treated, hair loss after childbirth will usually heal on its own in 9 to 12 months after childbirth.
② Mental alopecia
Mental alopecia generally refers to hair loss caused by mental reasons such as emotions and stress. It is generally caused by increased levels of adrenaline due to mental stress, resulting in the continuous secretion of sebaceous glands and sweat glands, worsening the growth environment of hair follicles, and leading to hair loss. Mental alopecia generally recovers gradually after the mental state becomes normal.
③ Traction alopecia
Traction alopecia refers to the situation in which the hair is gradually pulled out of the hair follicles by pulling the hair with greater force from the outside world. Generally, rigid pulling, improper perm, improper combing, hair tie and other methods can cause traction alopecia and more hair. It happens to girls, such as love to tie a ponytail and so on.
4. Conventional treatments of hair loss:
① Hereditary hair loss:
A characteristic of hereditary hair loss is that most of the hair follicles have shrunk when they are discovered, so it is generally only possible to rely on medical methods to restore the thickness of the hair.
There are two main types of drugs and one surgery:
Two drugs: minoxidil, finasteride
The current FDA-approved drugs for effective treatment of hair loss are minoxidil and finasteride. External use of minoxidil can promote capillary formation, enhance local blood flow, accelerate the growth cycle of hair follicle cells and promote the transformation of hair follicle cells to normal; oral finasteride (for men only) can reduce dihydrotestosterone in the scalp and serum Level to prevent hair follicles from getting smaller.
Surgery: hair transplant
When your hair loss is severe and baldness is formed, it means that most of the hair follicles have been necrotic, the hair follicles will not regenerate, and the necrotic hair follicles will never grow. Therefore, the medicine is basically ineffective at this time, and only hair follicles can be extracted from other areas. Then plant it in a hair loss area. This is like a “farming” method that allows you to grow hair directly, and these hairs do not contain hair loss genes, which is a good way for hair lovers to solve the problem of hair loss urgently.
② Pathological hair loss
The treatment of pathological hair loss should be determined according to different causes. Generally speaking, when the cause of the hair loss is eliminated, the hair loss will stop.
③ Acquired temporary hair loss
Temporary hair loss generally can heal itself. Maintaining a healthy attitude and good living habits will help the rapid recovery of temporary hair loss.
