According to research, during the COVID-19 epidemic, about 40% of adolescents with ADHD felt lonely, and 20% felt bored, depressed, and lacking motivation. Adolescents with ADHD go to bed later and wake up later than the normal group. They can easily become abnormal in their daily lives and indirectly affect the effectiveness of distance learning and family interaction. Studies have also shown that adults with ADHD are at higher risk of getting COVID-19 and have a higher hospitalization rate due to COVID-19. However, ADHD cases continue to receive drug treatment during the epidemic, and the risk of getting COVID-19 is the same as the normal group.
The doctor emphasized that ADHD patients who need to take medicine for a long time according to the doctor's advice, are still advised to continue taking the medicine during the epidemic, and it is not advisable to stop the medicine by themselves or use the medicine indicated by the non-medical person.
