According to data released by the United States on the 22nd, Pfizer's Covid-19 vaccine is safe and effective in children and is 91% effective in preventing symptomatic infections in children aged 5 to 11. The United States is considering opening up vaccination to this age group.
If approved by regulatory agencies, these vaccines may start to be vaccinated early next month, and the first batch of children in line will be protected before Christmas. The U.S. Drug and Food Administration (FDA) is expected to release an independent review of safety and efficacy data at a later date. If the vaccination is finally approved, the final decision on the vaccination is expected to be made in early November.
The Biden government has purchased enough doses for approximately 28 million children between the ages of 5 and 11 in the country, packed in special orange bottle caps to distinguish them from adult vaccines.
