Periodontal disease prevention

Periodontal disease refers to the spread of disease from the gums to the periodontal ligament, alveolar bone, and dental bone tissue. It is collectively referred to as periodontal disease. It is a chronic and destructive disease that occurs in the supporting tissues of the teeth. It is characterized by deepening of the gingival sulcus, redness and swelling, long-term pus discharge, bad breath, gradual absorption of alveolar bone, loosening and displacement of teeth, weakness in chewing, and even falling off on its own. It is more common in middle-aged and elderly people. It often invades a group of teeth or the whole mouth, and bruxism is the most common. It belongs to the category of "Ya Xuan" in Chinese medicine.
Then how to prevent periodontal disease?
(1) Pay attention to oral hygiene
From the perspective of morbidity factors, the morbidity rate in rural areas is relatively high, and the main reason is that the oral cavity is dirty. People who pay attention to oral hygiene and self-protection can have less or no disease. Even after the disease, early treatment can achieve better curative effect, and the curative effect is stable. Therefore, strengthening health promotion and education, striving to improve people's oral hygiene habits, and launching universal treatment for unclean gingivitis can all play a preventive role.
(2) Avoid foreign body damage
Many periodontal diseases are caused by long-term food impaction, trauma, etc., which should be brought to the attention of patients and dentists, and corrected in time. In particular, periodontal disease caused by poor work quality should be avoided. If the filling or restoration for tooth is too high, the wound will be combined, the contact point will be poor and the food impact will be caused. The device will damage the epithelial attachment of the gingival sulcus during the cleaning, resulting in the formation of periodontal pockets.
(3) Early check and early treatment
In early periodontal disease, after the irritants such as calculus are removed and the inflammation cleared, satisfactory results can be achieved. The effect of late treatment is very poor. Therefore, a general survey of oral diseases should be carried out frequently in order to find and treat them as soon as possible.
(4) Teeth should be brushed
It is recommended to brush your teeth every night to remove dirt and protect your teeth. The bristles of the toothbrush should not be too hard. Hard toothbrush will damage the gums and damage the teeth. Brushing your teeth is the best way to clean your mouth and protect your teeth. Brushing your teeth correctly can remove the soft white dirt, food residues and part of the dental plaque, and prevent the production of some calculus, which can massage the gums, thereby reducing the pathogenic factors of the oral cavity, promoting the health of the tissues, and enhancing it. The ability to resist disease.
(5) Teeth should be tapped often
Percussion not only consolidates the tooth root and periodontal tissue, but also excites the nerve, blood vessel and dental pulp cells, which is of great benefit to the health of the teeth. Commonly used methods of tapping teeth are: first tap the molars 36 times, second tap the front teeth 36 times, then tap the canine teeth 36 times each, and finally use the tongue to lick the teeth three or five times. Just use two minutes a day to get good results in strengthening teeth.
(6) Little labor to strengthen the body
Work can stretch muscles, smooth blood and energy, regulate the spirit, and strengthen the body. Especially mental workers and the elderly should often participate in some physical labor within their capacity, so that the body can exercise, which is of great benefit to the body and mind.
(7) Eat well
Diet is one of the basic conditions for the human body to survive, and it has the closest relationship with the human body. Should be light. Because a light diet is naturally good for nourishment, a rich taste is sweet and fat, and an over-eating is spicy, which tends to damage the internal organs. Modern medicine believes that staple foods such as rice, noodles, miscellaneous grains, and humans have an acidic reaction in the body after eating; non-staple food meat and eggs also show an acidic reaction. Only vegetables can become alkaline after digestion, and eating more vegetables can neutralize acidity and maintain the acid-base balance in the body. The blood of the elderly should be slightly alkaline, and the stomach and intestines should be cleaned frequently to reduce the absorption of toxins in the feces, so that the body can be healthy.
