How to know if you had a cold or an allergy

        A cold is a viral infection that causes the immune system to produce antibodies. The secretions of the nasal cavity are relatively viscous nasal mucus. As for allergic rhinitis, the nasal fluid is usually clear and transparent like water;
        The seasons change, do you also have a runny nose and stuffy nose? Are these symptoms an allergy or a cold? If you have symptoms such as nose discomfort, you can make a preliminary diagnosis from four aspects.
1. How long have the symptoms lasted?
        If the nasal congestion or runny nose is caused by a cold, it will gradually relieve or disappear within a few days to a week, if the allergy will last for some time, usually two weeks as the judgment.
2. Are there any other discomforts?
        Accompanying sore throat, headache, fever, limb weakness, and other symptoms, most of them are acute rhinitis caused by a cold. However, if the eyes, nose, ears, or throat feel itchy, it is often a typical symptom of allergic rhinitis.
3. Is the snot or nasal water is blown out?
        A cold is a viral infection that causes the immune system to produce antibodies. The secretions of the nasal cavity are relatively viscous nasal mucus. As for allergic rhinitis, the nasal fluid is usually clear and transparent like water.
4. What is the color of the nasal mucous membrane?
        A cold is a disease of acute upper respiratory tract infection. Through physical examination, it is common that the nasal mucosa becomes red and swollen due to acute inflammation.          Because allergic rhinitis is chronic long-term inflammation, the nasal mucosa will look gray and have edema.
If you have some symptoms of nose discomfort, please take it easy first, try to drink plenty of water, and rest more. If the symptoms become more serious, even chest tightness, fever, wheezing and other symptoms occur, you need to be more alert, hurry up to seek medical attention.
