        The United States, Japan, and South Korea have recently faced a surge in the number of confirmed cases, which has brought challenges to the United States’ unblocking, Japan’s hosting of the Olympics Games and South Korea’s epidemic prevention.
        Japan’s Kyodo News Agency reported that Tokyo area added 1,008 confirmed cases on the 18th, and the number of confirmed cases exceeded 1,000 in a single day for the fifth consecutive day. This shows that the fifth wave of epidemics has occurred in Tokyo.
         Yonhap News Agency reported that South Korea notified 1,454 newly diagnosed cases on the 18th, which is the twelfth consecutive day with more than 1,000 newly diagnosed cases. Prime Minister Kim Fuqian decided to ban gatherings of more than five people starting from the 19th in areas outside the Seoul metropolitan area.
         US officials reported on the 16th that the number of new diagnoses in the United States in a single week has increased by nearly 70% over the previous week, the number of hospitalizations has increased by 36%, and the number of deaths has increased by 26%. The number of confirmed cases has increased in almost all states.
